Job purpose:
The Attendance Monitoring officer plays a central role in supporting student engagement and success. The postholder is responsible for leading the attendance monitoring strategy and operational processes, ensuring that attendance data is actioned to support student retention, academic achievement, and compliance with regulatory frameworks, including UKVI/OfS requirements for international students.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Support early intervention processes for students with low or irregular attendance. Works closely with academic and administrative teams to identify attendance issues and support appropriate follow-up actions.
· Notify students of attendance concerns and assist in understanding attendance expectations and schedule meetings in person
· Attending weekly SEMS meetings, fitness to study concern meetings, intervention and support, re-instatement and return to study meetings, repeated lateness, suspension.
· Ensure adherence to attendance policies and regulatory requirements
· Support compliance audits by providing accurate documentation and records.
· Serve as the key liaison between Student Services, Schools, Registry, Visa Compliance, and IT Services
· Train faculty and staff on attendance procedures and use of relevant systems

· Ensure compliance with external regulatory requirements (e.g., OfS, UKVI for international students).
Person Specification:
· strong attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry.
· Proficient with student information systems, databases, and MS Office (Excel in particular).
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
· Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Working Conditions
· Office-based with regular interaction across campuses.
· Occasional early evenings, or weekends depending on business needs
· Use of computers, databases, and attendance monitoring devices.
