Salary: Up to £52,000 per annum

About the Role
As Programme Leader for Pearson Higher National programmes, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the student experience and ensuring outstanding academic delivery across a portfolio of vocational programmes. Working closely with the Head of Programme, you will provide academic leadership, ensure regulatory compliance, and inspire staff and students alike.

A teaching contribution is expected as part of the role. Campus presence is required during key delivery periods, with flexibility in agreeing a working pattern.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership & Quality Assurance
Oversee day-to-day programme delivery to ensure an excellent student experience.
Maintain the currency and relevance of programmes, leading on curriculum enhancement in line with RCL’s teaching and learning methodology.
Manage all quality assurance processes, including internal and standard verification, assessment monitoring, and adherence to partner requirements.
Review student performance data and contribute to programme reviews and planning.
Ensure VLE content meets institutional and partner standards.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance support to academic teams.
Support staff and student inductions and lead curriculum development initiatives.
Participate in academic panels, assessment boards, misconduct reviews, and quality processes.
Support effective assessment management in collaboration with registry and administrative teams.
Engage in scholarly activity related to your discipline or programme area.
Teaching, Learning & Assessment
Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
Support students requiring additional academic assistance, referring them appropriately.
Ensure timely, constructive feedback on assessments.
Promote assessment literacy and uphold academic integrity.
Oversee Personal Academic Tutoring to ensure students receive robust academic support.
Person Specification
Experience (Essential)
Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering or managing Pearson Higher National or similar vocational programmes.
Strong teaching and curriculum development background within Business or related fields.
Experience working with partner institutions or awarding bodies.
Strong understanding of Pearson assessment, verification, and external examining processes.
Direct experience liaising with Pearson Standard Verifiers.
Skills & Abilities
Excellent leadership and team-development skills.
Strong organisational and administrative capability.
Confident with digital learning platforms (e.g. Canvas, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint).
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
Ability to work flexibly across multiple campuses.
Desirable
PhD or Senior Fellowship of the HEA (SFHEA).
Experience embedding employability within vocational curriculum.
Engagement with academic/professional networks.
Knowledge of digital learning innovations and blended delivery.
