Are you an experienced academic leader ready to make a profound impact on teaching, learning, and academic excellence? We are seeking a visionary Deputy Provost to help steer our strategic priorities, elevate pedagogical practice, and foster an environment where both staff and students thrive.

In this senior leadership role, you will work closely with the Provost and collaborate across Colleges, Schools, and professional services to deliver an exceptional academic experience aligned with the standards of our degree-awarding partners and the Office for Students. You will champion innovation, inclusivity, and high-quality teaching—ensuring our academic community is empowered, supported, and equipped for success.

What You’ll Lead

  • Drive the delivery of strategic initiatives in learning, teaching, assessment, digital education, and student experience.

  • Lead institution-wide and school-level pedagogical innovation, working closely with UK university partners.

  • Strengthen and sustain positive, compliant relationships with awarding partners.

  • Provide strategic leadership across teaching, assessment, and academic staff development.

  • Shape and implement impactful academic quality enhancement activities aligned with B3 metrics.

  • Monitor performance data at school, programme, and module levels—and drive continuous improvement.

  • Support periodic review, validation, and revalidation with UK higher education partners.

  • Oversee and develop CPD, pedagogical training, and academic performance frameworks.

  • Promote scholarship, pedagogical research, and publication across the academic community.

  • Build communities of practice focused on innovation in curriculum design and teaching.

  • Champion emerging educational technologies and cutting-edge teaching methods.

  • Advise senior leaders on sector developments and their implications for learning and assessment.

  • Support recruitment, induction, mentoring, and evaluation processes for academic staff.

  • Contribute to key institutional commitments including the Access and Participation Plan (APP) and TEF2027.

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

  • Significant academic leadership experience in a complex, multidisciplinary Higher Education environment.

  • A postgraduate qualification (or equivalent experience) in an academic field, education, or pedagogy.

  • Strong understanding of UK higher education regulation, quality assurance, and contemporary pedagogical trends.

  • Proven success leading academic initiatives and cross-functional teams.

  • Experience working with validated and/or franchised UK HE partnerships.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills.

  • A collaborative, adaptable, self-motivated approach to academic leadership.

Desirable:

  • Experience leading large-scale change to enhance learning and teaching quality.

  • A PhD in a relevant discipline, education, or pedagogy.

  • Senior or Principal Fellowship of the HEA.

  • Experience in team building, mentoring, and academic staff development.

  • Proficiency with digital learning tools such as Moodle, Canvas, and Turnitin.
