About the Role
We are seeking an innovative and engaging Lecturer / VR Lab Lead to deliver high-quality teaching and enhance the student experience through the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) and immersive technologies. This role combines teaching excellence with leadership of a dedicated VR Lab, supporting its effective use across programmes and contributing to a dynamic, future-focused curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials across relevant modules
- Develop and update engaging teaching materials, including VR-integrated content
- Ensure high levels of student engagement and attendance
- Use digital platforms such as VLEs and MS Teams to support learning
- Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement
- Promote innovative teaching practices, including immersive technologies
- Take ownership of the VR Lab and support its use across programmes
- Embed VR and immersive technologies into teaching and learning activities
- Support staff and students in the effective use of VR resources
- Contribute to the development of immersive learning approaches
Assessment & Feedback
- Design and set assessments in line with module requirements
- Mark assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Monitor submission rates and student performance
- Contribute to moderation, standardisation, and academic integrity processes
- Support the integration of VR into assessment where appropriate
Student Support
- Act as a Personal Academic Tutor, supporting a group of students
- Provide academic guidance through group and one-to-one sessions
- Monitor student progress and engagement
- Signpost students to appropriate support services where needed.
Quality Assurance & Enhancement
- Contribute to module and programme evaluations
- Engage with academic governance and quality assurance processes
- Use student feedback to drive continuous improvement
- Support programme accreditation and quality standards
Scholarship & Professional Development
- Maintain up-to-date subject knowledge and industry awareness
- Engage in scholarly activity to enhance teaching practice
- Contribute to the School’s academic development plans
About You
Essential Requirements
- Master’s degree in a relevant subject area
- Experience teaching in higher education
- Strong subject expertise in a relevant discipline
- Practical knowledge of VR, AR, or immersive technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong digital capability (e.g. VLEs, MS Teams)
- Ability to engage, inspire, and support students
- Understanding of quality assurance in higher education
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities
Desirable
- PhD or willingness to work towards one
- Experience with VR development tools or immersive learning design
- Teaching qualification or HEA Fellowship (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation
- Engagement with external networks or industry

Working Hours & Flexibility
- 40 hours per week (schedule may include evenings and weekends)
- Must be flexible to travel between our London base campuses.
